After our September meeting was cancelled by Hurricane Ike, we had an impromptu break from our society meetings. October ushered in
calm weather and our next scheduled meeting in San Benito. Luke and Marian were our hosts to their lovely house and garden. Per the norm
members gathered around noon and socialized till lunch was ready. Our hosts provided a wonderful meal for all to enjoy. Afterwards, our
hosts spoke about their garden.
After the garden talk we had one of our bi-annual auctions conducted by Chairman Jon Watson. Our society members contributions and generous
bids, brought in a tidy sum for the society. Afterwards the meeting was concluded and members continued to socialize and visit prior
to departing.
Our next meeting will be in Brownsville on 15 Nov. Look forward to seeing you at one of the up coming meetings.
